High Peak Indie film festival 2018

“High Peak Independent Film Festival”, a festival celebrating national and international filmmaking talent, returns for its second year this June in New Mills.

The High Peak Independent Film Festival taking place at New Mills Art Theatre from Thursday 14th June to Sunday 17th June 2018

The High Peak Independent Film Festival (HPIFF) has just announced its line-up for this years international film festival, taking place at New Mills Art Theatre. The festival takes place from the 14th to 17th June, showcasing 60 films along with several different events. The festival showcases local, national and international talent, including shorts and features films from the United Kingdom, United States, Norway, Iran, and France.

The High Peak Independent Film Festival will be holding some British and International film premieres also, including French feature film ‘The Portrait’ and short American film ‘For The Birds’. It will also see the return of films from filmmakers and actors, including young filmmaker Olivia Maiden, Best Documentary winner Debbie Howard, Best Actor winner Farid Zarrinbal and Best Student Film producer Chloe McMahon.

This year, the film festival will have events including a 10 Hour Filmmaking Challenge, a panel by Women in Film and TV, a talk by Film Festival Doctor Dr Rebekah Louisa Smith, A Night at the Movies with Tideswell Band, Quizit! Special with a celebrity guest and the prestigious awards ceremony, all open to anyone who wishes to attend. The festival also promises to hold some great networking events and parties across the weekend too.

Festival director, Nicole Pott (25) says, “We have been working hard to make sure that the High Peak Independent Film Festival of 2018 keeps our values on supporting new talent and we have worked to make our festival greater than our successful inaugural year.”
